UniFAST Scholarship

This is to inform all qualified Filipinos that the UniFAST Scholarship 2025 application has started and all eligible persons to submit their online application form before the deadline. The Unified Financial Assistance System (UniFAST) has established a financial aid program for all Philippines in higher education, to enable students meet up with their academic fees.

UniFAST scholarships are set under the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) to assist eligible Filipino students enrolled in tertiary education.

What is UniFAST Scholarship Program All About?

UniFAST is an acronym which stands for the Unified Financial Assistance System for Tertiary Education. This scholarship program consists of 4 major opportunities which confers various categories of persons. These opportunities include:

  1. Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES)
  2. Free Higher Education
  3. Short Term Student Loan Programs
  4. Free Tech-Voc Education and Training

1. Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) Scholarship

TES is a financial aid program designed to fully or partially assist eligible students in State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), CHED-recognized Local Universities and Colleges (LUCs) and Private HEIs (PHEI).

While it is open to all Philippine students, an interested applicant must meet certain criteria.

This is a fully funded undergraduate UniFAST scholarship program which allows all qualified Filipino undergraduate students to study for free.

In other words, all students taking any undergraduate degree in State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) or CHED-recognized Local Universities and Colleges (LUCs) is not expected to pay any tuition or any other fee in school. This is according to the Republic Act 10931 SECTION 4.

Free Higher Education (FHE) is a free education system which takes both the rich and poor students into consideration, seeing that education is a social right of every Filipino student.

Eligibility for Free Higher Education

  1. An interested candidate must be a Filipino
  2. An applicant must be pursuing his or her first degree ever.
  3. Interested applicants must meet admission and retention policies of the State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) and Local Universities and Colleges (LUCs).
  4. An applicant must not be in his extra year in school.

3. Free Tech-Voc Education and Training (TVET)

The Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) is a branch of the UniFAST scholarship program that exempts students of TVET programs from paying fees in State-Run Technical Vocational Institutions (TVIs)

TVET Eligibility Requirements

  • Students wishing to participate in thus scholarship must be enrolled in their first post-secondary TESDA-registered TVET programs
  • Only students who are not holding a National Certificate III or higher, except those enrolled in bundled programs are allowed to participate in this program.

4. Short Term Student Loan Programs

This is a UniFAST scholarship which allows Filipino students to gain access to students load within a stipulated period of time (always short term).

While there are no specific period defined as short term on UniFAST scholarships portal, the eligibility criteria are still under review as at the time of this publication.

UniFAST Scholarship Eligibility Requirements

For any scholarship you want to apply under UniFAST, the following criteria must be met:

  • An applicant much be a citizen of Philippine
  • Must be a student in Philippine in any of the SUCs or LUCs.

  • He must be in his first undergraduate program.

  • The Free Tertiary Education offers a fully free education to all Filipino students who are also Filipino citizens.
  • The program offers students loan program m, though valid for a short period.
  • The Tertiary Education Subsidy scholarship covers the following fees:
      • SUC/LUC: ₱20,000 per Academic Year
      • PHEI: ₱20,000 per Academic Year
      • TES-3A: (Person with Disability)
        ₱10,000
        per Academic Year
      • TES-3B: (Board/Licensure Exam Takers)
      • ₱8,000 (one-time reimbursement)
    • The TVET exempts learners from paying certain fees. It is a free skill acquisition program.

The 2025 UniFAST Scholarship application closes on 25th May, 2025. All interested persons are encouraged to submit their online form before the last day.
