Entrance Examination 2025 Requirements
Candidates are to sit for the LBIS examination based on academic level and age and classified above. Read the instructions and requirements for the entrance examination below. It includes the examination policy, tools to brought in for the exam and admission process.
1. All Lead British International School entrance exams are scheduled for February, March, April and May, while additional exams are scheduled within the year for in-year admissions.
2. The examination last for 3 hours for all sections and subjects includes English Language and mathematics. The test is based on the class which the candidate is seeking admission into.
3. Candidates are to come for the examination with their writing materials (exercise book and pen) including a mathematical set. The primary examination does not require a calculator but a non-programmable calculator is required for the secondary school entrance exam.
Admission Requirements
1. To be eligible for admission into LBIS, candidates in the primary section are expected to score at least 50% of the total score while the secondary needs at least 40% of the total score. (50% is the pass mark for primary school while 40% is the pass mark for secondary school students)
2. Exceptions from no.1 students seeking admissions into years 6, 9 and 12 respectively are expected to score at least 60% of the total mark in the entrance examination.
3. Year 11 students are required to score at least 50% average in the entrance examination
4. The child’s previous school must be willing to write a letter to the West African Examination Council (WAEC) asking them transfer the student’s score the school (LBIS).
5. For year11 and 12 to be considered for admission into LBIS, they must have been students in another school and evidence must be presented that they are ready for the SSCE (NECO & WAEC) and IGCSE (Cambridge).
6. Admission into year 11 and 12 depends on special circumstances and at the discretion of the Principal Head of School.
7. The school (LBIS) reserves the right NOT to admit a child.
